Divetech Marine successfully completes propeller trimming and balancing assignment
Singapore, August 24, 2013 : Divetech Marine successfully completed a propeller trimming and balancing assignment for cargo vessel Aristea M, whose propeller blades were found bent and had serrated edges, due to contact with a submerged object during her voyage.
Divers and coordinators from Divetech Marine worked closely with classification body RINA, and ship managers Shiserco A.I. SA to have the damaged propeller blades trimmed and balanced to reduce unwanted vibrations that might cause damage to the stern tube seals and propeller shaft bearings. The blades were subsequently refurbished to a smooth finish.
The result: An increase in vessel sailing speed from 8 knots to 14 knots.
Yet another successful assignment carried out by Divetech Marine and we thank all parties who have in one way or another assisted us in the operation.
