Jack-up Rig UWILD Carried Out by Divetech Offshore
Singapore, June 22, 2022
In May 2022, Divetech Offshore was appointed to carry out a UWILD SPS-3 for a Jack-Up Rig under an International contractor based in Dubai.
Containerized dive control systems, machinery vans, NDT and rope access equipment and other necessary equipment were mobilized to the rig.
Detailed discussions with the client’s Offshore Installation Manager, Project Manager, ABS Classification surveyor and representatives from Divetech Offshore were carried out to lay out the finalized work scope to be carried out.
The scope covered the surface preparation of all areas of interests: chord to can connections, bays, jack-house to deck connections on all 3 legs of the rig. Thereafter, a General Visual Inspection (GVI) as well as Close Visual Inspection (CVI) of the jack up topside and underwater leg structures and spudcans were to be carried out.
In addition to the CVI, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) with Eddy Current Testing and UT Gauging was also carried out to ascertain the structural integrity of the interested areas as well as there being no material wastages in platings respectively.
The qualified and experienced dive team coupled with modern equipment and systems saw Divetech Offshore complete the works early and within the stipulated time frame allowed. At the end of the day, it was all smiles for the client and the dive team.
We would like to thank the all onboard the Rig for their warm hospitality and all parties involved that have made this project a success and would like to wish the Rig smooth operations on their next engagement!
